RDRAM: mix chip size on Pentium III

Can you mix RDRAM chip size (i.e. 1x128MB with 1x256MB) in the same
channel on a Pentium III computer? Thank you.

AFAIK, RDRAM must be matched. If not, you may only get 128 out of the other
chip. That is purely a guess....

I am unaware of any PIII systems (save for Xeons) that use Rambus memory.

Supermicro, among others I presume, made motherboards based on the i820/i840
chipset that would accomodate RDRAM with either a P-II or a P-III.

These are Compaq PIII AP250s. One channel/two slots only. Ugh.

From a response on the HP.COM forums, this is supposedly alright. As
long as they are both ECC. Speed is not even important (PC800/PC700)
as I have successfully mixed these on the same channel (running at the
lowest chip speed, of course). Thank you for your reply.
