I am very curious about the following error:
Ther is RAID 1 and RAID 5 in our W2K3
server.
Suddanly the server had emitted high pitch
that we have diagnosed to come from one
disk in RAID 1. When I have removed the
"crying" disk, the server has not booted, with
"crying" disk is has booted (though with many
messages). Interesting is, that the quiet disk
is not detected by SCSI Adaptec 2200S raid
controller.
Have I one good, though "crying" disk or are
both bad.

What kind of messages are you getting when you boot with the RAID 1 disk
online?
