I have a 2K sp4 server and XP clients in a school
setting. Last year we implemented quotas and everything
worked fine. At the end of the year we removed student
accounts using addusers and at the beginning of the year
we recreated all student accounts with the same tool.

Teacher accounts and some of those who had accounts last
year appear ok in the Quota utility, but new accounts get
the error "[Account Information Unavailable]" when you
try to display their quotas and display a SID instead.

How can i match the SID's to a username?

The students' accounts are *new* accounts. When they were created, they
were given new SIDs. SIDs are unique, but user names are not necessarily so
(as you've just discovered .

To make everything look happy again:
- Remove the quota entries that look like SIDs and not user names.
- Add quota entries for the students' accounts.

At the end of this school year if you disable the accounts instead of
deleting them, you can re-enable them when school reconvenes the next year.
