Quick Switch

I have a Logitech mouse, setup so that the button does a quick switch
between tasks. On my 2k system, this worked fine. As I am working on two
apps, I can switch from one to the other by pressing this button. On my
XP system, when I press the button, a dialog box appears asking me which
program I want to change to.

How do I avoid this dialog box, so that I can go to the previous program
like I did in Win 2k?

Alt tab works. How can I find out the list of such keystroke
combinations on my computer?
