Question on re-manufactured toner cartridges

My 1350W needs a new toner cartridge, and I find them expensive as H
(about $100) on the web. Whereas, there are ?re-filled? re-done
cartridges for some 40% less (about $70).

Are the latter worth getting to save money - or do they give trouble?
Are they a waste of money?

Anyone have experience here?

Thanks

Geezer

We have a HP 5L at work and used refilled cartridge for the past 5+ years.
All worked perfectly.

Search the Web and find out how to refill them yourself for as little as
$10.

Yes. We have a Xerox 1040 that for the past 7 years have taken the four
toner cartridges we've accumulated from originally purchasing new and have
had them refilled by a fellow. They've always worked fine and saved us a
heap of money.

If the toner and refilled cartridge work ok, how about the drum (green color)
know anything about it?

My toner and drum are separate unit. (Panasonic KX-FA75). Thanks.

Generally compatible drum units work every bit as well as originals, I don't
know whether they are available for this printer but Google will tell you.

I buy all my genuine toners/drum (Packed together) from Ebay at less than
1/2 the prices. I could further reduce the cost if I can find compatible drums
or recover drums. The drum failed before the toner run out. I kept all worn
drums, hopping someone can tell me source for Panasonic's recovered
laser drums. Thanks.

In general, a reliable refiller wants repeat business, so he will try to
make a good refill cartridge for you, and will also warrant it against
trouble. So, the first question is to find a reliable refiller in your
area or country.

However, be aware of this... with the Minolta/Konica 1350W, the
cartridge has some type of chip in it which is "terminated" when the
cartridge become close to empty. This chip tells the printer it is a
"genuine K-M cartridge" and allows the printer to operate at a fast page
speed. If you purchase or refill a cartridge which doesn't have this
chip replaced (I believe the chip costs about $10 per unit) the printer
will work, but at about 1/4th the speed or so.

Yeah, of course, this is a lot of garbage and shouldn't be legal.

At that margin, I'd just as well get a new cart.
