The company says it thought the new slogan 'Bonk for longer' was less offensive.

But the bureau's chief executive, Fiona Jolly, says it has already received numerous complaints about the signs on Sydney's Parramatta Road.

This response in that link sums it up for me:

Quote:
not sure what the problem is with children knowing what sex is or why we do it.... i dont make a point of discussing it with my small children but im not afraid of the conversation. its how they got here!

i do however have a big problem with ads for medicine. I recently visited the US and they advertise these kinds of drugs and others such as arthritis meds, depression meds etc. It is appalling. It is illegal here to advertise prescription meds, why do they get to advertise sex function meds ? If you cant keep it up or get it going then you have a problem you need to see a doctor for. Anything else is just sponging off male inferiority complexes.
It may not be a case of prudishness but more a case of protesting against advertising that is offensive for other reasons.

And of course the perpetrator just knew their new line would lead to publicity.

And some saps fall for it.

Look at the bigger picture, as I always say.

I co-raised three daughters. They knew what was going down when they were about seven, I think. And if they ever asked me awkward questions, I told them, no probs. Why skirt around the truth?

I always stressed two things to them:

1) An unwanted offspring can really mess up your life.

2) AIDS Kills.

Nuff said.
