Prompting me to open file

My Interenet explorer used to prompt me if i wanna open file/open folder/cancel. But i think i accidentally canceled this option and i now can't use this fuction. How do i remake this function?

Open Windows Explorer and go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to the file type in question and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Check the box for "Confirm open after download".

Try this option.

Right click on the Start button | Go to explorer | Tools | Folder Options |
File Types | select the file type | click the change button and uncheck the
option "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
