does anyone know how to start up in the ms-dos prompt on
a windows xp home. i'm not sure if it is F3 pr F8 ..does
windows xp has this command..

There is no DOS in Windows XP.

There is a DOS prompt but it runs over Windows, which is a probelm. You hit F8 and tell it to boot to DOS, it still loads some of windows files, so it is not a true DOS.
