hello,
a few days ago I noticed I had an amber light on a raid drive. is there
any software out there that would monitor and alert me when things like this
happen? Also is there a similar or package that would also do the same for
certain events in the event log?

Utilities should have come with the RAID controller.

yes they did with my ibm servers. something called IBM Director. i don't
like it at all. was wondering if there was a a 3rd party solution.

You could try www.google.com and use "RAID utilities" as the search term.
