Problems getting PDA to sync with BCM

Running PC with OL 2003, BCM update installed.

PDA: Axim X5, Windows Mobile 2003 installed.

Updated business contacts in PDA - a total of 186 changes. PDA placed
in cradle, active sync starts, finds the changes. Goes to sync the Biz
contacts, stalls at first contact to change, never shows more than 1
record, Active Sync shuts down connection after 10 minutes.

Toggling business contacts on and off in Active Sync options has no
effect.

Review of BCM shows no changes were transmitted.

Questions:
1) Any ideas to cause of issue?
2) Is there a resolution?
3) If not, is there a way to extract data or transfer Business Contacts
into regular contacts on PDA?

One note: I had to transfer PC's hard drive contents to a bigger hard
drive on Dec 1. Since that date, am unable to run any office updates.
My guess is that installation or secure signature files were corrupted.
Windows will not let me uninstall or reinstall any Office 2003 apps
since that date.

Thanks in advance for the assist.
