XP has been running slowly, freezing up. Programs not responding, especially Media Player.

Checked Task Manager, found process "svchost.exe" using all CPU not being used by system. Tried shutting down process, got message "Remote Procedure Call service has terminated unexpectedly - system shutting down in 1 minute" by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.

Checked Newsgroups out, tried MSBlaster fixes, installs shut down before completing. AVG anti-virus also shuts down before completing test.

HELP!

Jonn
