My HP 3100 laserjet printer always shows as off-line. How can I get it back
on line so that I can print to it?
Have tried reinstalling the drivers but nothing changes.
Any help would be appreciated.

Start>Control Panel>Printers and Faxes
Rightclick your printer and click Use Printer offline.
It will automatically switch to print online.
Clicking it again will switch it back to offline, etc.

Have tried that "Byte" didn't work. Also tried uninstalling and reinstalling
printers and drivers and rebooting.

Take a look here. If this doesn't resolve your problem, you'll need to
COMPLETELY uninstall and reinstall printer according to these instructions:
Uninstall & reinstall Printer

Your USB printer is listed as offline when you try to print from Windows

Byte;
Apperently this printer has to be connected to a router. So I guess I
have to find the ip address for this and configure the printer as this. How
do I find the ip address to configure the printer to communicate through the
router?
