Is there any way I can get my XP system to continuously display the
status of my printer -- preferably on the task bar somewhere. I know I
can position the mouse cursor over the printer in 'Printers and Faxes'
and see the online or offline indication but I would like to be able to
see it all the time. I've thought of putting a shortcut to it on the
desktop and moving the mouse over it but that isn't exactly what I want.

Thanks for any tips.

Usually, if an enhanced XP driver exists then there could be a status window
for the printer. If you are using the built-in printer drivers of XP then I
do not think you can get a status window, other than in Printers and Faxes.

Thank you, Yves.

I found something about 'Status Monitor' in the Brother driver. Am not
sure exactly what it does because the description is not clear to me.
Will enable it and see what happens.

Thanks again.
