Possible virus - changes file dates

I don't know if this is a virus or not, but somehow the time and date of all
the data files on my computer were "updated" beginning at Oct 22, 2003, 8:23pm.
Looks like it started on the c: drive at 8:23 and ending on the last partitions
at 8:25pm. I have gone thru my interest stuff and nothing happened around that
time.

Any ideas on what might have caused the dates to have been changed?

This has turned out to be more of a pain than I original thought, because I
used the file dates for locating various data files and photos, and for the
chronology. Without the dates, I can't tell when they were first saved. A real
pain.

I updated and scanned with Norton and no virus' detected.

This morning I moved a whole folder full of files from one partition to another
and then when I went into the folder, I saw that all of the dates on the files
had been changed to the time when I moved them. This seems screwy to me -- I
don't remember ever seeing this happen before. Any ideas on how this new
date-changing can be prevented?
