After setting my home page to what I want, it resets
itself to a search engine after rebooting. The search
people said I a browser plugin got installed from a porn
site. How do I remove this and keep my own home page?

If you go into add remove you should be able to find the
browser and remove it if this fails try changing back to
default for a couple of days. If all else fails you can
restore your system to a date prior to the browser
appearing.

Goodluck!!! (it took me ages to get rid of something
similar).
