I am interested in building a spreadsheet that will allow me to put in my
investment account values at periodic dates over the past five years. I
would like to compare rates of return (between two different investments)
based on the actual amounts included in my periodic statements. Any help
will be appreciated.

TIA,

Tom

In an app I've been working on for a financial institution, they resort to using
a third-party library that has a function in it to do that.

Pete,

I'm not sure I understand what you are telling me. Are you saying this is
not possible in Excel? Or, is that third party library available?

Tom

Dunno if it's natively avail in Excel - but the fact that somebody paid a third
party to develop it suggested to me that maybe it isn't.

It's time for greater minds than mine to chime in here...
