Hi,

I have a problem with an IBM Thinkpad R40 Laptop, Windows Xp.
I have an external hard 3,5" 120GB disk drive (7200 RPM), connected
with USB 2.0.
Indeed the transfer speed is remarkable, 25 MB/s (the internal hard
disk has bare 5 MB/s).
I tested the hard disk by capturing a movie from my videocamera: 25
fps, one hour movie, zero frames dropped.

But, when I try to play whatever avi video (also very short)
physically stored on the hard disk, using for example Windows media
player, or Real Player,
the system freezes and I have to kill the application using the task
manager.

Any hint?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Dan
