I am working on a class presentation and am having trouble with the playback
of movie files. I have saved the presentation using the CD package function
on my desktop. I inserted the DVD into the laptop just to make sure
everything runs smoothly later this week. The slides are accessible and the
movie files (ranging from 1 - 3 min) play in their entirety while viewing the
slides in the normal view; however, once I view the slides in "slide show,"
only the first three seconds of each movie file is played. To make sure it
wasn't the laptop, I tried running the presentation from the DVD on the
desktop and had the same problem. Can anyone explain why this is happening
and tell me what action to take (if any) so that this project is not a total
waste?

Have you copied the files onto your laptop hard drive? This will always work
better than playing from the CD because file access is much faster.
