I have a powerpoint presentation that I would like to have a stock ticker
running at the bottom of the screen in front of the presenation. Currently I
am using AOL Instant Messenger as my stock ticker. The problem is when I
take my powerpoint presentation to slide show mode, it goes in front of the
ticker.

Anyone know how I can get the ticker to run in front of the slide show. I am
in Mac OSX if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Rich

I ended up writing my own program to do it using c++ and making my ticker
the Top Most window.

Does it need to be the real deal? Or would a "fake" ticker do, as an effect? Have a QT movie, animated gif or Flash file created to play in the PPT window.

If it is an web based (html, java) ticker you can use Shyam's LiveWeb addin
and put it on your slides but it gets interrupted when the slides change.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the capability that you are looking for without
resorting to add-ins, controls, etc.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) feel strongly that PowerPoint
should provide support for dynamically updating (live?) content spanning
multiple slides (e.g. tickers, timers/clocks, etc.), don't forget to send
your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
