Despite the battery / software problems I've been having with my iPhone 4S, I have to say that the camera is quite nifty. Here are some of the photos I've taken over the past 6 weeks.

Durham Cathedral and the River Wear

St Mary's Lighthouse in Whitley Bay

Castlefield in Manchester

I've also been playing around with an app called Instagram - it's free and allows you to put effects on your photos.

Those are really good quality. At last, a phone camera that takes a decent pic.

My HTC takes pix that are... mediocre, lacklustre, uninspiring, adequate.... have never owned a phone yet that took a good pic but those pix from the 4S are very good indeed

Nice pix, Bex, i'd agree that the iP4S does take a decent pic.

You should try 360 Panorama, thats a fun app for photo taking.

I used to have a Sony Ericsson K800i which had quite a nice camera compared with other camera phones at the time.

My only complaint of the iPhone 4S camera would be that the flash isn't great. Pictures taken at night look a bit rubbish which is a shame.

Still, it's nice to have a good camera on my phone for when we're out and about - I'm not in the habit of bringing an actual camera around with me all the time!

I'm going to look into that app V_R

In addition to what i said earlier about how good the iP4S camera is, i must confess the camera on the Galaxy S2 is better. It easily the best camera i've seen on a phone so far.

That and the bigger screen is the two things i feel the iP4S is missing. It needs a bigger screen now....

Well done, those are nice shots considering how small those sensors are in phone cameras.

I love the photos Becky, they look really good. Those bridges actually look very "arty" don't they. Their shapes and your camera angles compliment each other to produce some very interesting shots, imho. I particularly liked your shadow pic too.

Tbh, I would never have guessed that these were all taken on a phone camera, all of them look very impressive.
