Sometimes after I boot up and then select my user login a popup window opens
with the message "Windows cannot load the locally ?? profile and is logging
you on with a temporary profile." I have to restart my computer in order to
get my personal profile to load.

I am concerned that my personal settings file is corrupted and one day may
not load at all. What do you suggest?

Hi dmahanay, - insufficient data to analyze.
Here a few steps that might help you:
- make a clean start without any automatic startups or use a user
password to delay user logon;
- do a file defrag with e.g. OO-Defrag, not MSDEFRAG, that will not
make file coherent.

.... and tell us the results.
Regards Rolf

How do I make a clean start up without using automatic startups?

I do use a User Password...i.e., when I boot up Win XP takes me to the login
screen where I have 4 users set up. I am the Admin. I require password to
log into my user and when I log in with that password it sometimes doesn't
find my personal settings.

How do I do a OO-Defrag?

Use MSCONFIG from Execute, first go to services, exclude all MS
services and disable all other; then go to Systemstart and deaktivate
all.
This procedure is called "Clean Start".
To learn more about this procedure, go to >Start >Help and key in
'clean start'.

Hi dmahanay, go to google and key it in. Look up the entry, OO-SOFTWARE
will show.
You may also search the news groups for alternative programs. I like
this one best.
