Hi!

Simple question (...but not for me!).
In Windows XP Prof, a single local PC in a workgroup (any domain, any
network), are defined three users: 1) Administrator, 2) Parent, 3)
Child.
User "Administrator" belong to "Administrator group", user "Parent" to
"Power User" and User "Child" to "User".
A local HardDrive with two partitions: "C" (OS) and "D" (Data).

I'm not able to prevent "Child" or group "User" to access drive "D"
and some files or folders stored in drive "C".
I tried with "Sharing and Security", but the switch "Make this folder
private" isn't active.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Andrea

Can you check your file system (properties on the drive).
It must be NTFS to have possibility to restrict access - probably you have
FAT32!
Try to convert to NTFS.

Turn off Simple File Sharing and set file permissions manually.

File sharing etc. explained.
