I'm running Win2KPro on a P3 w/ 384Mb RAM, standard config.
This morning, I noticed I had a great deal of disk
thrashing for no apparent reason; when I took a look at
TaskMan, I saw that every scrap of available RAM and CPU
cycle was being gobbled up by something called
SirCam32.exe. So, I did a little research, found out what
this virus was and did (forget the fact that most alerts
said this virus comes in via an opened email attachment,
which I NEVER do), and followed instructions for
eliminating the virus. Worked fine. Now, however, I get
the
'This file does nor have a program associated with
it'...'Create an association'...etc.
error. Fine, except it's doing it ONLY for executables.
Everything else works OK on this machine, comspec's OK,
blah, blah. Now, what on earth would cause this?
