I know there has been some bad press about them but we don't hear so often the good news.
They like anyone, are human and mistakes do happen. Deal with people with respect and they will return in kindness the respect, in my experience.

Have bought from PCSPECIALIST online and I cannot criticize their work to date. I had them build up to my specifications. The OS was probably 5th of the total price which was brought on a pre order pricing.
Email to say accepted order on13th
Further email's stating process
4th email saying was dispatched, received next day 23rd.
I was able to track my order from the 1st email.

Phoned them to get some information and this was dealt with professionally.

Bad press is rarely given without a good reason.

As an online supplier, upset enough people and you will get some kind of feedback.

As an antidote to them losing gullible people's money, many online suppliers will spam forums posing as purchasers decreeing how great such and such an online supplier is.

Which to my mind is dangerous.

PC Specialist have upset people, and assuming all the complaints against them are genuine, I'd say there's no smoke without fire.

I would advise anybody reading this post to be wary of people making one post out of the blue championing an online supplier who to all intents and purposes is somewhat unreliable.

Which, really, is common sense.

My thanks to all those like as above quote who welcomed me to this forum

Update to say am still happy with my PC and Windows 7 professional

Has been quoted 'Bad press is rarely given without a good reason' true in itself, with regards to my experience with pcspecialis which so far has been no problem. Am I to expect all quotes are to be bad only, so good news is automatically blacklisted? Agreed good news is hard to find sometimes!

Am sorry for those who have had bad experience, I likewise could find bad experience to TOP named supposedly PC Specialists, they are human as well.

Again my thanks to this forum

As you can see, I have a legitimate complaint against this company. It is their duty to hear me out and usin Yahoo to stop my correspondance to them is highly irregular!
Dear PC Specialist
I will be posting the following over the net at least 5 times a day until I receive my adaptor. You leave me no other recourse - yet.
Less than a year ago I bought a laptop from PC Specialist with all the trimmings including £ 69.00 for a 3 Year Gold Warranty (2 Year Collect & Return, Lifetime Tech Support) insurance. The bill came to £2351.00.
Nearly one month ago the adaptor charger stopped working. And so the laptop was useless.
On 15th June they acknowledged receipt of the faulty part.
Having not heard from them since then on the 23 June I mailed them and they said they sent me one replacement on the previous Tuesday as well as another one on the Wednesday (this seemed very strange as only one was required) and that I should receive them that very day.
Having still not received the part I contacted them again and on 27 June they wrote that they had just dispatched it with Yodel. They also included a tracking link which took me to the DHL site. To date, this firm's delivery person(s) claimed to have gone four times to my address, could not find it on another occasion as well as state that cards were left at my house on two separate occasions. This is simply not true!
I live in the middle of a village on an A road. When I order stuff from the net in the UK it usually arrives within a couple of days. Most post only takes a day to arrive.
DHL cannot manage to find my house yet very oddly they keep claiming to have done so on numerous occasions! My postcode typed on Google street view shows the side of the building with the street name on it!
I sent an email to DHL/Yodel explaining their error but they ignored it completely.
I sent a number of emails to PCSpecialist explaining the situation and urging them to put pressure on DHL, to no avail. I then asked PCSpecialist to use another more competent carrier or just the ordinary post. They didn't seem to like me telling them what to do so now they blacklisted me and my mails to them get bounced back! They told Yahoo my emails were "abusive". They wrote to me saying that my complaint was "sarcastic"!
I used another return address and got through to them but they just ignore me.
Meanwhile my laptop has been out of action for nearly 4 weeks and I don't know whether PCSpecialist is intending to do anything about it!
Can anybody recommend a course of action?
Thanks

No, you're not, what utter tosh, I've only just noticed this.

We let all comments, good or bad, stand, as long as somebody's not spamming.

I have read elsewhere of complaints about this supplier, I wouldn't use them myself.

And for my next statement the usual 'Don't try this at home' and 'this point of view is NOT official forum policy and is the personal view of the poster only, aired in his personal capacity and not as an official representative of any forum, legal body or company'.

Phew.

Right. If a company done that to me I'd visit them and either hurt somebody or damage their property. I might get nicked but I'd feel better
