When pasting text into text box, it changes to Times New Roman, but why?

I'm using MS Word 2000 and MS Windows 7.

When pasting text into text box, it changes to Times New Roman (always),
even though the text I cut was formatted to Arial, and the text box's
paragraph format is set to Times New Roman.

Is this a bug? If not, how do I overcome this?

Many thanks

Al

PS.... Sorry, I meant: "the text box's paragraph format is set to Arial".

When you create a text box, the text inside it is formatted in Normal style.
In other words, you can modify the settings for the Normal style to suit
your needs.
