In general, programs like this are simply asking to have as many resources
available as possible. In this case they want you to separate your program
partition from your scratch space. To satisfy Photoshop, separate partitions
on the same physical drive is enough to fool the program into thinking
everything is setup correctly. Of course this is the kind of solution that a
****ing dickless idiot like "Nicholas" would dream up. With a comment like:

"Virtually all your response is nonsense. How did you dream this up?

--
Nicholas"

With a pansy faggot assed lame comment like that, you might as well go at
your system with a hammer. Taking the advice of a shithead like "Nicholas"
will get you nothing. Simply because she doesn't know her piehole from her
respective ass, does not suggest that she is capable of a cogent comment.
So, in short, to get nothing accomplished, follow "Nicholas"'s ignorant
suggestion and partition away.

This, of course, will not help anything since having multiple partitions on
the same physical drive only degrades speed by causing the drive's heads to
thrash about trying to do the work of two drives in one physical drive. Any
idiot can tell you that two drives are better than one, except for morons
like "Nicholas" who would try to convince you that you can get something for
nothing by using some lame piece of partitioning software. The fact of the
matter is that with multiple drives you have more drive heads to deal with
the operations of the software. The more heads, the faster the program is
able to do the things it needs to do.

In an ideal world, programs like this would use RAM for it's machinations
but many systems do not have the amounts of free memory available for such
operations.

-------------------------------------------------------
>hi, unless you have a partition management suite(norton

and suchlikes)your hard drive exists as a whole.
to create an additional partition would require you to
delete the existing and recreate a primary using the
amount required and then creating a secondary utilising
the rest.
summary.!! you will lose all the information currently
installed (windows and programmes.... the lot)
i'm not sure why photoshop is recommending you store a
scratchdisk on a seperate partition!
my advice is to forget it ever mentioned it ok.

Regarding Photoshop and scratch disks, the fine people of Aztec IT Training
have a reasonable page on this topic.

http://www.aztectraining.com/hints_t..._hints_mem.htm

This is one of many sources that basically say the same thing, Allocate
your largest, emptiest, fastest hard drive as the "primary" scratch disk.

Regarding Nicholas, I cannot prove that she is "dickless" however the fact
that she is a "****ing idiot" is fairly evident.

Regards.
