Backups can be quite useful at times....
DON'T try and repair your problem disk. DON'T write anything to it.
Try and find a recovery program that will hopefully search for and
find the original partition, and then extract your data files (on to
the 2TB drive Rod thinks you should have). The hope is that the
original FAT table is still intact, and so fragmentation information
will still be there.
Once you have all your data recovered, and verified, you can 'play'
with the original disk.
Your boot sector partition information would be far easier to
understand if it was in Hex
