I am looking for information on deleting the pagefile from
my XP Professional machine prior to creating an image
file. Today our image file is over 1.6GB, so deleting the
pagefile will greatly reduce the size of the image.

Is there anyone out there doing this, if so, how? Is
there a good technical document that explains this process?

Thank you,
-Stephan

Hi

You can 'delete/disable' the pagefile by going to Control Panel>Advanced>Settings>Advanced. Under 'Performance click on 'No paging file' and 'Set' - reboot - no PageFile - you can then create your image file.

Will -
Performing these steps will remove the pagefile. When the
image is pushed back down, and sysprep runs will a
pagefile be created or does this completely remove the
pagefile?
Thanks,
-Stephan

Hi

You will have to re-enable the pagefile after Sysprep has run.
