Outlook will not "accept" meeting to the calendar

When I get a notice of meeting from another outlook user, Outlook will not
post meeting to my calendar when I enter "accept". The comment is that " The
meeting is not in the calendar, it has been moved or deleted". The meeting is
in the calendar of the person sending me the meeting notice.
