Outlook changed, don't know why and now can't configure. Outlook was
configured to view an email in a "reading pane" and has been working fine for
a long time. Suddenly it isn't and when I go to "view-reading pane", it's
grayed out and I'm unable to configure it. I've looked most places I know
and can't find a solution or why it's suddenly grayed out and unconfigurable.
Assistance please.. many thanks. D

What view do you have selected? Have you tried resetting your view? Is
this a home PC or one in a corporate environment?

I've gone to tools-options-other and changed the configuration there... and now of these have un-grayed the reading pane option.. I'm certainly confused.. appreciate your help.. please explain your reset. thanks... David

View>Arrange By>Current View>Customize Current View>Reset Current View

You didn't answer my question about whether this is a home or work computer.
If the latter, the Reading pane could be disabled by policy.
