Often I input a word and I get a ton of irrelevant URL's on Google. It
would be great if you could refine an existing search. Say you input
Operating System then you could search within Operating System for
Windows 2000 then within Windows 2000 for something else. Is this
difficult to implement? Metacrawler used to have this wonderful search
page which displayed several subheadings when you inputed a search word.
It was great for weeding out the irrelevant hits. Unfortunately they
have stopped this. Can you get a subheading search ability in any other
search engine? Is there a term for it?

In news:(E-Mail Removed),
Frank W. <(E-Mail Removed)> had this to say:

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

I'm not certain if there are any like that any longer. Sometimes good things
fade out into the past it seems. If this is any help to you I'll share it
but it's not really an answer to your question I'm afraid.

This is my homepage:

http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en

I'm pretty careful about picking terms and over the years have become a
professional Googler it seems.

I'm sure that you're probably above this but the content isn't patronizing
and I've read most everything in there at one point or another:

http://www.google.com/help/index.html

And, just in case you're interested:

http://johnny.ihackstuff.com/

He has a whole bunch of stuff about getting results from Google there,
pardon the term about hacking but the term's correct. The page is
interesting and educational if nothing else.

To the right of the bar is a feature called "advanced search" useful to
reduce the Inital returns, and after you get your collection there is
"Search in results" at the bottom.
