Once you have your org chart displayed, view the org
chart toolbar and click the autoformat button on the
right end of the toolbar. When you click on a box in the
chart also click on the fuzzy outline of the box and
you'll see at the corners where you can resize that box.
I didn't know how to do this either but click on help and
typing in "organizational chart" told me how to do it.

If this is Word 2002, I believe you also have to disable AutoLayout before
you can resize individual boxes.
