I've found multiple threads asking how to remove the bullets from SmartArt
and the answer is, you can't. Therefore, I'm formally requesting in future
releases there be an option to remove bullets from SmartArt.

Hi,

I agree, but it's a very new feature. A work around is to cut the Smart Art
object, paste special back as a wmf, ungroup the resultant image and
manually delete the bullet.

I've tried that trick, but it really deteriorates the quality of the graphic.

Hi,

There is a simple solution that keeps your graphics in their native format. (i.e. PPT, Word, etc.)

To do this go to R.H. mouse and select 'Convert to Shapes'. This will remove the SmartArt plastic frame and replace it with the usual group objects frame.

You can then select the bulleted text and go to the Bullet option on the ribbon. (Just under the 2 in the example above this answer. Click the drop down arrow, Select No Bullet and your bullet will be removed in the normal way.

You will also be able to use the formatting brush on shape objects.

Hint: Make sure that you are satisfied with your SmartArt colour choice before you convert to shapes.
