Want to open a new window from a hyperlink, but want the page not to have the
toolbar, etc. (actually, exactly like the window that appears when you type
New Question) in this site.

I can make a new window pop up, but it has all the commands, etc. like a
regular one.

Tried a pop up message, but it doesn't allow tables, etc.

Is this possible in FrontPage 2003.

Basically, you want to create a popup window, using JavaScript. With popup
blockers all over the Internet (thank God), this is really not practical to
try.

Found what I really wanted to do is a Behavior - Open new window. From there
I can see the settings I was talking about, including creating the size.

But one thing.

From the front page help and on the website, it says you can select either
text or a graphic to insert the behavior in to. But, I can't get it to work
with either. The only thing I can get the (insert) buttom to allow me to put
a command on is an existing hyperlink.

Any ideas on how to just insert it into regular text or a graphic?

Thanks,

G-

when you want a non-link to trigger a pop-up behavior you've got to select
the element that contains the text (like the <p> tag, etc.).
Regarding pop-ups in general you should read the article below. It will
show you a really great way to make any link into a pop-up in a logical way.
if the user has a pop-up blocker installed or JavaScript turned off the link
will just open in a regular new window. it's a very good article and you
can save and reuse the code in future projects. it's well worth the time
required to digest the information and put it in your bag of tricks.
