Open another form on the OnLoad

I have a form that when it opens I want to open a second form where the user
selects an item off a combo box to set the data on the continuous first form.
There is not room on the first form to put it. There is a button on the
first form that opens the second form. I tried to open the second form with
DoCmd.OpenForm on the first forms On Load event but it did not work. So then
on the On Load of the first form I set the Focus to the Command button that
opens the second form and then put: SendKeys "{Enter}" This works fine
except I have heard that it is not a good practice to use that. Is there
another way to open the second form automatically on the On Load of the first
form?

Thank you for your help.

Steven

Hi,
perhaps you can use a timer event of first form to open second one after,
say, .5 sec
