office 2000 deployment

what happens if i use the option to deploy office 2000 by assigning it
to computers in an OU and also select the remove office installs that
were not installed by group policy .... which were installed via cd or
a non available network install

will it error out when/if it tries to reference the original install
point and fail?

.... as i have 2 sites that were installed via this method currently in a
mix of 97 & 2000 which id like to move all to a managed group policy
install of office2k
