Hello,

I am not sure if I am posting this in the right place but I am sur
there is someone out there who is going to give me a hand. I wa
getting the following error message when trying to download email
using Outlook 2003

Quote:
Task 'mail.domainname.com - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F)
'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this proble
continues, contact your server administrator or Internet servic
provider (ISP).'

But I have been monitoring this and it seems that I am only gettin
this during the morning hours then by the time it is midday thing
seems to be find again ...I was able to find out that I have a proble
with the configuration of my Norton Internet Security 2004.

When I go to my office I am logging to the net with my laptop thru th
office network and using the office Firewall System (this forces me t
disable my personal firewall); which works just fine – I can access m
emails and browse secure sites…even easily get updates from Microsoft
But when I log on from home directly to the net my personal firewall i
enabled I simply can’t do any of that stuff…

I am using Norton Internet Security Professional 2004 as I have jus
said earlier; just a few weeks ago I started getting this problem wit
the connection (Norton new updates have blocked some ports…I think).
did find out from the support guys at my ISP that I'll need ports 2082
2083, 2095, and 2096 opened to access webmail and secure sites.

Now I can’t figure out how to program Norton to do just that. I woul
to love to hear if someone was facing a similar problem and how the
were able to solve it.

I am also looking into possibilities for switching to another Interne
Security/Anti-virus program; because since I have installed the NIS200
I have been getting problems. I would love to get recommendations o
alternative of NIS2004…I am sorry about leave Norton especially when
have been using their program since I can’t remember when!!

 One more note…I have SPII installed for more than a month no
but even when I have disabled Windows Firewall …in the Security Cente
it shows it as being turned on?? Can you explain that to me??

I look forward to hearing from anyone soon!

Thank

Probably not. Look for a forum that deals with Norton Internet
Security 2004, possibly on Symantec's Web site.

I have seen a few cases in which the firewall was similarly
confused. Try to open it from each connection or even from each
share and compare settings. It may help to remove all shares,
reboot, then recreate all shares.

More information on Service Pack 2 can be found at
