No thumbnails for AVI files

I have AVI types associated with VirtualDub 1.8.1. But I've just
noticed that if I view a folder as Thumbnails the AVI files just get a
default VirtualDub thumb, not a small image. Anyone have any
suggestions what might have changed to cause that please?
