I don't do yahoo.
Its still not clear.
When you tried using the 500 gig as the Master, did you install XP on it ?
If not and you have them both in the PC, then its still using the 40 gig as
the Master. You can check this out by taking out the 40 gig and trying to
boot. if noting happens then there is the problem - no XP on the new drive.
I would have installed XP + all drivers on the 500gig drive, formatted the
40gig drive and use it as a slave.
So you have two choices :
1) keep the 40 gig and use the 500 gig as a slave. In this case go to
solution A
or
2) install XP on the 500 gig then re-format the 40 gig and use it as a
slave. In this case go to soution B
Solution A :
Your drivers seem to be installed. Double slick on the loudspeaker iconin
the task bar > make sure NOTHING is muted and ALL sliders are up to maximum.
Sometimes when you re(-nstall XP the volume is either muted or low.
Solution B
XP has installed generic drivers. Follow the steps described above "Device
Manager" (from the place where you took the image). Make sure you've
downloaded XP specific drivers from the soundcard manufacturer' website, or
use the WP drivers on the installation CD that came with your PC.
Or repost.
Cheers,
Jerry
