I have 2 polices set on a OU. The first policy is set for No Override. If
I make a change to policy 2 (let say I pushed an application update). Does
the No Override in the first policy prevent the application update from
being applied or just prevent any changes to the settings that are applied
in the first policy?

Thanks for writing.

If both policies are in the same OU, we apply the lower in the list first.
If the policy at the bottom of the list is NO OVERRIDE, then what ever is
set in that policy would win, even if redefined in the top policy. If the
top policy had NO OVERRIDE, it would win, but then again, it would win
anyway by being the last to be applied at this OU level. However, if NO
OVERIDE is not used, then the top policy could be overwritten at a OU level
closer to the object.

Also, NO OVERRIDE applies to the Policy itself, so that policy would win,
all the way down to the OU closest to the object. In this scenario, I would
put the application deployment in the lower policy in the list, and set the
top policy to no override.

Hi,

As you described, you have 2 group policy set to the same OU. Some options
of the two group policy are same and point to the different value.

When we choose the "No Override" option for the Group Policy 1, the options
which are both described in group policy 1 and group policy 2 will only be
modified on the group policy 1. The options describe in the group policy 2
which is not described in the group policy 1 will be applied to the client
in the OU.
