On my computer, all of the icons make the files look like
they are in an unknown file format. Can anyone help me?

look normal..?

They mean the file associations are messed-up so the
default unknown icon is all that appears.

CKR, do the icons still work? Or does Windows ask you
what to open with?
If you create a new icon, like for Word, does the new
icon look okay?
Are any of your Program Menu items screwed up
If you log on as another user, do their icons look okay?

Hi,

See if this helps:

EXE and LNK Fix for Windows XP - Line 12
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

You may also want to run the edit on line 4:

Why do assholes like you sit at your desks all day waiting for a user to
come here with a problem just so's you can climb up his arse for not being
very clear with his problem description.

I clearly understood what he was saying, that makes you pretty stupid.

Not every visitor here is technically coherent, that's not their fault and
certainly not reason for a butt-knocker like you to start fondling himself.
