I can not get audio from the mic to the speakers. I know this would cause
feedback if not properly set. The speakers are good. The mic is good. I have
checked all settings but can not get a direct connect from the mic to the
speakers. This use to work but I think after I upugraded to SP2 it stopped
working. This is on a home made system but the same thing is happening on a
new Compaq Presario and also on my Toshiba note book.

My grandson likes to hear his voice over the speakers.

Any help will be appreciated.

Have you R.clicked the speaker in the task-bar,then select, open volume
control,
chk the box for micraphone, adjust the volume.

Hello Andrew, Yes I have done that and have both the speakers and mic at mid
setting. I can record to a file and play back the file so I know the
equipment is working properly hardware wise but something is messed up
software wise as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the assistance.
