Is there a known problem with the newdev.exe file.

I have been advised to look for an updated version through the diagnostics
tool.

The installed version is 5.2.3668.0

In Windows Vista, newdev.exe is a Microsoft file in C:\Windows\System32 for
device driver software installation. The version is 5.2.3668.0.

If you are using System Diagnostics, it may be reading a log referring to an
instance where a device was being installed, and, in that instance, taking a
little more time than usual to shut down. Dunno. But, of course, there is
no "updated version", and may just be a standard response as to a remedy.
If this is the case, it isn't an appropriate remedy, and can be ignored.
