See http://www.hp.com/country/ca/en/feat...ableprint.html

What is not clear from this are some additional advantages to many who
post/read in this ng.

The most important are -
1. The cartridges are refillable (HP have stated this) all you have to do is
push the OK button when you get a warning.
2. A closed loop system is built into the cartridge which removes air from the
cartridge as the printer is printing, eliminating the need for cartridge
purging and priming, the ink is returned to the cartridge. HP claims that some
open loop systems waste more than 50% of the ink. This system is a major
improvement.
3. The drivers are much better, providing protection for the printhead in the
event of low ink levels and giving the operator some options when a cartridge
is nearly empty (like printing in greyscale). The ink reservoirs never become
completely dry thus providing printhead cooling at all times.
4. The black printhead delivers a much smaller droplet size than previous HP
pigmented black printheads.

If the engineering is good then the advantages for those who wish to refill
their own cartridges are significant and the cost per page relative to older
offerings should hopefully reduce.

I have no affiliation with HP; so measekite keep your mouth where it belongs,
in the gutter!

Hp must decrease dot's size! They are stuck with 5 pl when canon and
epson deliver 1 pl and much crispier fotos.

here you can read the review but seems that 8450 delivers much better quality.
