I have 2 domains. One is a Windows 2000 native mode
domain, the other is a Windows NT based domain. I have a
two way trust between the two domains. Recently I added a
second domain controller to the Windows 2000 domain.

The new domain controller can not access the trusted
Windows NT based domain, and vis versa. However, it can
communicate within the Windows 2000 domain normally. Any
suggestions as to why this may be happening?

Thanks!

You probably are using wins since you are using a downlevel trust. Make sure the
new domain controller is also a wins client and that it's record is in the wins
database in the other domain. I would also run dcdiag on it looking for any
failed tests. It is also possible that there are security options on the new dc
causing a problem if they are different than the security options on the dc that
is working fine. Security options are not defined by default in Domain
Controller Security Policy and could be different in the local policy. You could
also export the local policy from the unaffected dc and then import it into the
problem one and then reboot it to make sure they have the same security
ptions. --- Steve
