I have to completely re-install XP Pro. Now I cannot access the internet. The
original CD is XP SP1. I have install all drivers and XP says that everything
is working. I am able to bring up internet explorer and type in an internal
lan address and access the html pages. However, I cannot get out to the
internet. There are no outgoing restrictions on my firewall. I did install
SP2. I have tried access with and without the XP firewall. Any ideas?????

try and remove your networkcard/ uninstall it.

close the pc

remove the networkcard (NIC)

start/reboot the pc

check in the pc device manager that windows has registered the nic a
uninstalled/removed.

close the manager --> close the pc.

install the nic again.

start/reboot the pc.

normally win xp installs the driver automaticly - if not - install them
manually

check if you have a connection now. - it should be working now.
