Defender (and Beta 1) identifies NetNanny as spyware and advises immediate
removal.
What it does is spyware like so I presume the generic scan is detecting it
(very good). But, shouldn't it be added to the list of default 'allowed'? -
a lot of home users with children will have this software (or another like
it) installed.

Whilst discussing NEeNanny does anyone know of a similar product that links
to the NTLogin (even IE's content filters don't -even in IE7)? Very annoying
to have to set the default to 'very child safe access' and have Messenger,
virus updates etc. fail and then have to log-in and exit and restart
messenger etc.

I think that it would see Net Nanny as spyware as that is EXACTLY what it is.
It spys on activitys (Who you want to) and that is why it was recognised
that way.
I am assuming that it is not on a "Friendly" list because people will use
that program in a way it was not intended.
I know it can be used as a spy tool for some people, and that is probably
why it is flagged.
You can allow it to continue by setting the drop down to "ALLOW".....

Richard, I have to agree with you: it is spyware. If a certain site (like for games) is blocked, the administrator has to enter password to allow it.
