Need Help re-Installing XP Home Edition

I had to remove XP Home Edition from my laptop due to
some incpmpatibilities. I have now resolved them and want
to re-instal XP Home edition. XP won't let me re-install
it. It says it found multiple OS on my computer. I only
have a single harddrive with a single partition on it. I
don't want to reformat and have to reload all of my
applications back. Is there any other choice?
