I need to disable the XP firewall. I have followed
instructions supplied by Microsoft Knowledge Base Article
283673, but cannot get the job done. Instructions are:
1. In CONTROL PANEL, double-click NETWORKING AND
INTERNET CONNECTIONS, and then click NETWORK
CONNECTIONS. 2. Right-click the connection on which you
would like to disable ICF, and then click PROPERTIES.
3. On the ADVANCED tab, click the box to clear the
option to PROTECT MY COPUTER OR NETWORK. All of this
works until I click on PROPERTIES. When I do that, box
disappears and I never see the ADVANCED tab.

Just checking: When you go to Control Panel \ Network Connections, is
your ISP status designated as firewalled?

I just checked and I did not see anything that looked
like ISP status. Please tell me what I am looking for.
Thanks.
