Hi, i cant seem to figure some things out about this board and hoped someone
could help me. First i have a serial ata 150 hard drive, not recognised in
the bios, so when i try to put in a secondary ide hard drive it becomes the
master and doesnt load the the OS has gone funny on it, is there any way of
using my SATA HDD as a master the the IDE one so i get can my documents off
it?
Also, is there anyway of turning that RAID thingy off when a load the comp
as it just slows the startup down.

Thanks

I read from this that you want the OS on the sata drive? if so follow this
for winxp, post back if other OS;

1) locate the sata drivers on the cd/web and copy them to a floppy.
2) connect your sata drive, disconnect your ide drive.
3) boot up and enter the bios, change boot order to; CDROM - Floppy - SCSI.
4) boot from winxp cd.
5) very soon after booting from the cd you'll see a message at the bottom
saying 'press F6 to install drivers' or something like that, press F6.
6) wait a while and a screen will come up asking for the driver floppy,
insert it and select the appropriate line, press enter.
7) continue and complete the winxp install.
8) re-boot and it should boot to the new winxp install.
9) shutdown and install your ide drive, re-boot. If your ide drive if
formatted as NTFS you may need to logon as admin and take ownership of your
files to be able to access them.

Right, have you got it booting from the sata drive with the ide drive
installed? if not is it because the ide drive boots when you connect it up,
if so then change boot order in the bios to; CDROM - Floppy - SCSI, the bios
decides that sata drives are SCSI and if you have HD0 before SCSI it will
boot the ide drive. (hope that makes sense?)

If your ide drive is formatted as NTFS you may need to logon as admin and
take ownership of your
files to be able to access them.

Am I getting any closer?
